Menus + Spreadsheets + Games! Oh my!

by Stephanie

Well, hello there.

Still no word on my background check, but I’m keeping busy.  And thankfully, I have a new project {more on that in second}.

I finished up my trivia game…

Um, of course I started with a question on fiber.

This is the reaction I’m looking for from the employees.

I also compiled all my recipes and completed the two cycle menus.

And all together now!

Oh spreadsheets, how I love you.

I’ve still got work to do on the Employee Incentive Program, and as I mentioned previously, I have a new project to work on as well!  I am to create an event for National Eat Healthy Day {November 7th} for the hospital cafe!  I get to design a heart healthy menu to serve that day, a healthy eating exhibition, some take away recipes, plus whatever else I come up with!  My ideas will be presented to the CEO and others at French.  Ahhh! So cool!!

So with that, I better get crack-a-lackin’.

On the docket:

  • 6 mile run
  • Intern shtuff
  • Avila Farmer’s Market and Concert in the Park

Happy Friday!

Aspiration {Inspiration} :: Train HARD

by Stephanie

Today I am heading in to Week 4 of Half Marathon Training!

I am feeling better and faster and stronger than I ever have while training for a race.

Here is the breakdown of all my training activities (including cross-training).

Keep at it.

My pace is much more steady, not to mention, quicker than in the past.

My GI troubles seem to be waning thanks to my new Low FODMAP Diet.

It’s all coming together.

I am incredibly motivated to get out there a kick butt!

And to end…

Bring. it. out.

Half Marathon Training :: Week 1

by Stephanie

After not running for 4 months, it’s like I am a woman possessed.

I. can’t. get. enough.

…Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

That’s probably why I was out the door at 6:00 am to get out there before the day begins.  That and because of the rain that’s headed our way this weekend. Yuck.

Week 1: Half Marathon Training

I have one more 6 miler this weekend.

30 miles in Week 1.

Yeahhhh!

I want this framed.

Happy Friday!

The Day After

by Stephanie

Oh. My. GOSH! How FUN was yesterday?! So fun.

The day started out with Johnny’s Runnin’ of the Green.

Josh’s getup {or lack thereof} was a hit!

I was really pleased with my time, as the race was a rather last minute decision.

Results
Time: 36:40
Pace: 7:20/mile
Overall Place: 305
Age Group Place: 17

Josh kicked major booty too -  33:12 // 6:38/mile.  Speed.Demon.

The race was followed by beers, sunshine, naps, delish food (Thanks to Dave and Mary!), more beer, and a batch of botched [but still edible!] brownies.

A successful St. Patrick’s Day indeed!

I’m also amazed by how good I feel today.  I’m taking precautionary measures by rehydrating and going on a longer-ish, slow run.

How’s was your St. Patrick’s Day?

Weekend Update

by Stephanie

Monday, Monday.

Back to class today!  Spring break was pretty excellent.  Took me a while to get into break mode.  Definitely started out a little rocky, but certainly eased into being a bum.  Ha!

Yes, there was a bit of that, but also a little of this…

Which was awesome, because I had not done any cardio {except my beloved BodyRock} for months.
So maybe not a complete bum…
I’ll just keep telling myself that.

Catching Up
On Friday, I received my DSLR!
It was a terrible wait for the damn thing.
It arrived about 5 minutes after I tweeted that…
I’ve taken about a million pictures.  Most of them being of random things, as I test out the settings.  I promise I will post some soon, as the quality is ah-mazing.  Something to look forward to!
_____
Saturday was my first phone interview with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo!
Let me tell you, a half hour phone call never went by so fast.
I do want to go into more detail with this, so I am going to save this topic for a later post.
_____
Sunday, I basically slept all day.
I’m not kidding you.
I got up super late, ran 7 miles, took a long {3 hour} nap, ate, and went to bed.
Bum status.
Yup.
That’s all I got for now, folks.

Have a great Monday!
